Basketball has always been a passion of mine. The sound of the basketballs hitting the floor and the squeaky shoes is like music to my ears. The game brings joy to me, especially when it is played the right way.

I am entering my 5th season at Walhalla High School as a PE Teacher and Head Basketball Coach. I began writing a short coaches devotional almost a year ago and after our ultra successful season, I decided to tell my story and Journey as a coach. In my book "Battle Tested Coach"

I speak about what it took for me to get to where I am today. I am no genius by any stretch of my imagination, but what I can claim is that I am a follower of Christ. I believe that I was able to tap into God's purpose for my life, in order to reach the goals that I had for my professional career.

We must understand that our walks of faith are not designed to be easy. They aren't designed to give ourselves the glory. They are designed for us to be victorious and to also give God the much due glory. Each time that I prepared for practice or games, I made sure that what I said and did aligned with what God had planned for me. I did not always operate like this, in fact, God had to allow things to happen in my life in order to bring me to this.

Before getting to this point in my professional career, I hit a lot of adversity, but I overcame that adversity with and through God's power and Grace, I wrote my book "Battle Tested Coach" in order to let people know that they can overcome any circumstance. When you go through something, learn from it, and use it to inspire other people.

I am always reminded of Paul and his encounter with Jesus on Damascus road. He used his encounter to carry on the Gospel. We too are called to use what we've been through to help other people. It's not about us, it's about Him.
